Turn on running tests in parallel for release builds.
I've run this a bunch of times on Mac and Windows.
I'm pretty confident in it now. Haven't tested
on Linux.
Also, on non-windows platforms call kill -9 on the test_shell
process to really ensure it's killed. I was seeing hangs
on the mac without this.
