* Rewrite std::string("") to std::string(), Linux edition.dcheng@chromium.org2013-04-091-7/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch was generated by running the empty_string clang tool across the Chromium Linux compilation database. Implicitly or explicitly constructing std::string() with a "" argument is inefficient as the caller needs to emit extra instructions to pass an argument, and the constructor needlessly copies a byte into internal storage. Rewriting these instances to simply call the default constructor appears to save ~14-18 kilobytes on an optimized release build. * base: Use TEST() macro when possible.tfarina@chromium.org2012-12-031-7/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is no need to inherit from testing::Test and then have to use TEST_F(), if you aren't overridding SetUp() or TearDow(). So if you don't need to customize it, you can use TEST() macro directly and it does that for us automagically. Fix all the cases found with the following command line: $ git grep -n1 "public testing::Test" base/ | grep "};" TEST=base_unittests R=willchan@chromium.org Review URL: https://codereview.chromium.org/11308261 git-svn-id: svn://svn.chromium.org/chrome/trunk/src@170747 0039d316-1c4b-4281-b951-d872f2087c98
* Integrate ETW with VLOG logging.siggi@chromium.org2010-11-041-8/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This change extends the log severities into the negative for VLOG verbosities. It also keeps track of file/line information and passes it to any registered log handler. The log level is naturally controlled by translating ETW log levels to the severities. * Wrote a custom pattern matcher for vmodule.akalin@chromium.org2010-11-011-3/+52
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The custom pattern matcher matches any slash (forward or backward) to any slash. It also does not do escaping like MatchPattern(). Finally, '?' matches exactly one character, which matches google-glog behavior (MatchPattern() matches '?' to 0 or 1 character). * Added support for filtering on the entire pathname to --vmodule.akalin@chromium.org2010-10-291-62/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Also cleaned up spurious warning when --vmodule is used but --v is not. Removed slow perf unittest from vlog_unittest.cc. * Implemented VLOG() et al.akalin@chromium.org2010-09-291-0/+105
Implemented VLOG(), VLOG_IF(), VLOG_IS_ON(). Added --v and --vmodule switches. Changed some spammy sync-related logs to use VLOG.
