* Revert 118415 - Add a Content API around BrowserChildProcessHost, similar to ↵jam@chromium.org2012-01-203-94/+81
| | | | | | | | | | | | | what was done with ChildProcessHost. Now classes like PluginProcessHost don't derive from it, but instead use composition. I've also moved the iterator class into its own file in the public directory. Since classes don't derive from BrowserChildProcessHost and so can't static_cast from it, I added a template helper that does this. * Define DevTools content APIyurys@chromium.org2011-12-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The API consists of the following parts: * DevToolsManager routes messages between devtools agents and clients * DevToolsAgentHost provides an abstract interface to the debuggee, currently it is either RenderViewHost or Shared Worker. Client can obtain DevToolsAgentHost from DevToolsAgentHostRegistry. * DevToolsClientHost is an API that should be implemented by DevTools front-end. There is a default Chromium implementation living in chrome/ and a remote debugging server which also implements this interface. Clients can extend it in order to provide custom front-end. There is a default DevTools front-end implementation and content/ provides a way for creating corresponding DevToolsClientHost by means of DevToolsClientHost::CreateDevToolsFrontendHost. The embedder just needs to provide a concrete delegate. * This patch also removes DevToolsHost_ForwardToAgent and DevToolsHost_ForwardToClient IPC messages which were used to forward only one message. DevTools IPC messages are now hidden behind the devtools content API. * DevTools: support shared worker initialization debuggeryurys@chromium.org2011-10-125-3/+76
| | | | | | | | | | | To be able to debug shared workers initialization, devtools front-end needs to attach very early, before first statement of the worker script is executed. To achieve this on the IO thread we keep a list of shared workers for which devtools front-end was opened and not closed yet. If such worker is destroyed we store its URL and name in the pending workers list and once a new worker is created again we tell it to pause its worker context on start and wait for explicit notification from the devtools client or resume message(in case we learn that the client has already closed on the UI thread). After pause message was sent to the worker being created we put corresponding data to the paused_workers_ list and post reattach task to the UI thread which should result in reattach message to the new worker if the front-end still exists, otherwise when the worker data is removed from the paused_workers_ list we will send resume message and worker will continue to operate as usual. * Give plug-in processes an executable heap and disable PIE/ASLR for Nativemark@chromium.org2011-08-241-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Client loader processes. Some plug-ins depend on having an executable heap. They write code to data pages and attempt to execute it without calling mprotect to mark this code as executable. Native Client needs to allocate a contiguous 1GB of address space. ASLR may interfere with there being a "hole" this large in the address space by the time NaCl makes its request. Non-executable heaps are only available in 10.7 and later for 32-bit processes. PIE/ASLR was formerly disabled for all processes other than the browser process. This change reenables it for all processes other than the NaCl loader. PIE/ASLR is available on 10.5 and later, although the implementation is stronger in 10.7 than in earlier releases. This change results in two new helpers in addition to the existing Chromium Helper.app: Chromium Helper EH.app (for executable heaps) and Chromium Helper NP.app (for no PIE). libplugin_carbon_interpose.dylib moves out of the helper .app and directly into the versioned directory. The InfoPlist.strings have been removed from the helper app, but empty .lproj directories remain. * DevTools: add initial support for shared workers debugging.yurys@chromium.org2011-07-131-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | WorkerDevToolsManager is a service that is used for managing DevTools connections to DevTools agents in shared workers. It operates on the IO thread. Each debugged shared worker instance has unique devtools id which is used for addressing workers when passing messages between WorkerDevToolsManager and DevToolsManager. WorkerDevToolsManager translates those ids into WorkerProcessHost and worker_routing_id and back. WorkerDevToolsMessageFilter passes worker messages to the WorkerDevToolsManager which in turn forwards them to DevToolsManager on the UI thread where they are dispatched to corresponding DevTools window. Messages from DevTools frontend go through the DevToolsManager which forwards them to WorkerDevToolsManager on the IO thread where they are sent by means of corresponding WorkerProcessHost to the corresponding WorkerDevToolsAgent.
