| * ARM: 7541/1: Add ARM ERRATA 775420 workaroundSimon Horman2012-10-211-0/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 7253b85cc62d6ff84143d96fe6cd54f73736f4d7 upstream. arm: Add ARM ERRATA 775420 workaround Workaround for the 775420 Cortex-A9 (r2p2, r2p6,r2p8,r2p10,r3p0) erratum. In case a date cache maintenance operation aborts with MMU exception, it might cause the processor to deadlock. This workaround puts DSB before executing ISB if an abort may occur on cache maintenance. Based on work by Kouei Abe and feedback from Catalin Marinas. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No upstream commit as this is a merge error in the 3.0 tree. ARM_ERRATA_764369 and PL310_ERRATA_769419 do not appear in config menu in stable 3.0.y tree. This is because backported patch for arm/arm/Kconfig applied wrong place. This patch solves it. | * ARM: imx: select CPU_FREQ_TABLE when neededArnd Bergmann2012-09-141-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit f637c4c9405e21f44cf0045eaf77eddd3a79ca5a upstream. The i.MX cpufreq implementation uses the CPU_FREQ_TABLE helpers, so it needs to select that code to be built. This problem has apparently existed since the i.MX cpufreq code was first merged in v2.6.37. * ARM: 7161/1: errata: no automatic store buffer drainWill Deacon2011-12-091-0/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 11ed0ba1754841316d4095478944300acf19acc3 upstream. This patch implements a workaround for PL310 erratum 769419. On revisions of the PL310 prior to r3p2, the Store Buffer does not automatically drain. This can cause normal, non-cacheable writes to be retained when the memory system is idle, leading to suboptimal I/O performance for drivers using coherent DMA. This patch adds an optional wmb() call to the cpu_idle loop. On systems with an outer cache, this causes an explicit flush of the store buffer. * ARM: 7091/1: errata: D-cache line maintenance operation by MVA may not succeedWill Deacon2011-10-031-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit f630c1bdfbf8fe423325beaf60027cfc7fd7c610 upstream. This patch implements a workaround for erratum 764369 affecting Cortex-A9 MPCore with two or more processors (all current revisions). Under certain timing circumstances, a data cache line maintenance operation by MVA targeting an Inner Shareable memory region may fail to proceed up to either the Point of Coherency or to the Point of Unification of the system. This workaround adds a DSB instruction before the relevant cache maintenance functions and sets a specific bit in the diagnostic control register of the SCU. | | * ARM: 6913/1: sparsemem: allow pfn_valid to be overridden when using SPARSEMEMWill Deacon2011-05-261-0/+3
| |/ |/| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In commit eb33575c ("[ARM] Double check memmap is actually valid with a memmap has unexpected holes V2"), a new function, memmap_valid_within, was introduced to mmzone.h so that holes in the memmap which pass pfn_valid in SPARSEMEM configurations can be detected and avoided. The fix to this problem checks that the pfn <-> page linkages are correct by calculating the page for the pfn and then checking that page_to_pfn on that page returns the original pfn. Unfortunately, in SPARSEMEM configurations, this results in reading from the page flags to determine the correct section. Since the memmap here has been freed, junk is read from memory and the check is no longer robust. In the best case, reading from /proc/pagetypeinfo will give you the wrong answer. In the worst case, you get SEGVs, Kernel OOPses and hung CPUs. Furthermore, ioremap implementations that use pfn_valid to disallow the remapping of normal memory will break. This patch allows architectures to provide their own pfn_valid function instead of using the default implementation used by sparsemem. The architecture-specific version is aware of the memmap state and will return false when passed a pfn for a freed page within a valid section.
