* all-archs: consolidate .data section definition in asm-genericSam Ravnborg2007-05-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | With this consolidation we can now modify the .data section definition in one spot for all archs. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>
* all-archs: consolidate .text section definition in asm-genericSam Ravnborg2007-05-191-1/+1
| | | | | | Move definition of .text section to asm-generic. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>
* [PATCH] disable init/initramfs.c: architecturesJean-Paul Saman2007-02-111-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Update all arch/*/kernel/vmlinux.lds.S to not include space for initramfs when CONFIG_BLK_DEV_INITRAMFS is not selected. This saves another 4 kbytes on most platfoms (some reserve PAGE_SIZE for initramfs). Signed-off-by: Jean-Paul Saman <jean-paul.saman@nxp.com> Cc: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> Cc: <linux-arch@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* [PATCH] m68knommu: include unused sections in linker scriptGreg Ungerer2007-02-091-0/+10
| | | | | | | | Include the unused sections in the m68knommu linker scripts. Needed for modules support. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* [PATCH] relocatable kernel: Kallsyms generate relocatable symbolsEric W. Biederman2006-12-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Print the addresses of non-absolute symbols relative to _text so that ld will generate relocations. Allowing a relocatable kernel to relocate them. We can't actually use the symbol names because kallsyms includes static symbols that are not exported from their object files. Add the _text symbol definitions to the architectures which don't define it otherwise linker will fail. Signed-off-by: Eric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com> Signed-off-by: Vivek Goyal <vgoyal@in.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de>
* [PATCH] vmlinux.lds: consolidate initcall sectionsAndrew Morton2006-10-271-7/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add a vmlinux.lds.h helper macro for defining the eight-level initcall table, teach all the architectures to use it. This is a prerequisite for a patch which performs initcall synchronisation for multithreaded-probing. Cc: Greg KH <greg@kroah.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> [ Added AVR32 as well ] Signed-off-by: Haavard Skinnemoen <hskinnemoen@atmel.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* [PATCH] m68knommu: remove fixed ROM region setups from linker scriptGreg Ungerer2006-06-281-60/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | Remove the hard coded ROM region setups. Use Kconfig options to specify these in a generic way for platorms that want them. This builds on top of the other recent m68knommu linker script changes to completely remove fixed board configurations. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] m68knommu: use configurable RAM setup in linker scriptGreg Ungerer2006-06-261-154/+6
| | | | | | | | | | Remove the fixed RAM configurations for each board type from the linker script. Replace with simple defines usng the flexible RAM configuration options. This cleans out of lot of board specific munging of addresses. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] add EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL_FUTURE()Greg Kroah-Hartman2006-03-201-0/+10
| | | | | | | | This patch adds the ability to mark symbols that will be changed in the future, so that kernel modules that don't include MODULE_LICENSE("GPL") and use the symbols, will be flagged and printed out to the system log. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* [PATCH] m68knommu: fix ram length of m5208evb boardGreg Ungerer2006-01-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Adjust length of M5208EVB ram define. It should size up to 32MB after adding in the dBUG reserved 128k. Problem pointed out be Milton Miller <miltonm@bga.com>. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] m68knommu: align param section and add 5208EVB linker supportGreg Ungerer2005-11-071-0/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Align the param section. It can end up starting on an unalingned boundary depending on the size of ksymtab_strings. If it is unaligned things like modules will fail to load with unaligned access traps. Add linker scipt support for the M5208EVB board. Patch originally from Matt Waddel. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] m68knommu: new board support in linker scriptGreg Ungerer2005-09-021-3/+20
| | | | | | | | | | . add support for the M5235EVB board . add support for the SOM5282 board . add support for the MOD5272 board . fix end of memory define for eLITE board Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
