* ACPICA: Fix to allow region arguments to reference other scopesLin Ming2012-04-221-0/+1

Allow referenced objects to be in a different scope. http://www.acpica.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=937 http://marc.info/?l=linux-acpi&m=131636632718222&w=2 ACPI Error: [RAMB] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20110112/psargs-359) ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, Could not execute arguments for [RAMW] (Region) (20110112/nsinit-349) Scope (_SB) { Name (RAMB, 0xDF5A1018) OperationRegion (\RAMW, SystemMemory, RAMB, 0x00010000) } For above ASL code, we need to save scope node(\_SB) to lookup the argument node(\_SB.RAMB). | * ACPICA: Fix issues/fault with automatic "serialized" method supportLin Ming2011-01-181-4/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | History: This support changes a method to "serialized" on the fly if the method generates an AE_ALREADY_EXISTS error, indicating the possibility that it cannot handle reentrancy. This fix repairs a couple of issues seen in the field, especially on machines with many cores. 1) Delete method children only upon the exit of the last thread, so as to not delete objects out from under running threads. 2) Set the "serialized" bit for the method only upon the exit of the last thread, so as to not cause deadlock when running threads attempt to exit. 3) Cleanup the use of the AML "MethodFlags" and internal method flags so that there is no longer any confustion between the two. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This reverts commit f23b9c7(http://git.moblin.org/cgit.cgi/acpica/commit/?id=f23b9c7) The problem with this change was determined to be a problem with the FreeBSD host OSL (OS services layer), not with this patch itself. Therefore, re-introducing this change into the main ACPICA code. | * ACPICA: Remove obsolete ACPI_INTEGER (acpi_integer) typeBob Moore2010-01-221-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This type was introduced as the code was migrated from ACPI 1.0 (with 32-bit AML integers) to ACPI 2.0 (with 64-bit integers). It is now obsolete and this change removes it from the ACPICA code base, replaced by u64. The original typedef has been retained for now for compatibility with existing device driver code. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add 2010 copyright to all module headers and signons, including the Linux header. * | ACPI / ACPICA: Multiple system notify handlers per deviceRafael J. Wysocki2010-02-221-0/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently it only is possible to install one system notify handler per namespace node, but this is not enough for PCI run-time power management, because we need to install power management notifiers for devices that already have hotplug notifiers installed. While in principle this could be handled at the PCI level, that would be suboptimal due to the way in which the ACPI-based PCI hotplug code is designed. For this reason, modify ACPICA so that it is possible to install more than one system notify handler per namespace node. Namely, make acpi_install_notify_handler(), acpi_remove_notify_handler() and acpi_ev_notify_dispatch() use a list of system notify handler objects associated with a namespace node. Make acpi_remove_notify_handler() call acpi_os_wait_events_complete() upfront to avoid a situation in which concurrent instance of acpi_remove_notify_handler() removes the handler from under us while we're waiting for the event queues to flush. * ACPICA: Module-level code: enable _REG execution in same scopeLin Ming2009-12-151-1/+5

* ACPICA: Add support for module-level executable AML codeLin Ming2009-08-281-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add limited support for executable AML code that exists outside of any control method. This type of code has been illegal since ACPI 2.0. The code must exist in an If/Else/While block. All AML tables are supported, including tables that are dynamically loaded.
