* net drivers: fix platform driver hotplug/coldplugKay Sievers2008-04-251-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since 43cc71eed1250755986da4c0f9898f9a635cb3bf, the platform modalias is prefixed with "platform:". Add MODULE_ALIAS() to the hotpluggable network platform drivers, to re-enable auto loading. NOTE: didn't change drivers/net/fs_enet/fs_enet-main.c "old binding" support. That looks problematic in the first place (it even uses the ancient "struct device_driver" binding scheme for platform_bus!) and I suspect it will vanish soonish when arch/powerpc rules the world. Also, drivers/net/ne.c would have needed more thought to sort out. * phy: Change mii_bus id field to a stringAndy Fleming2008-04-161-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Having the id field be an int was making more complex bus topologies excessively difficult. For now, just convert it to a string, and change all instances of "bus->id = val" to snprintf(id, MII_BUS_ID_LEN, "%x", val). * cpmac: convert to new Fixed PHY infrastructureAnton Vorontsov2008-02-051-37/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts cpmac to the new Fixed PHY infrastructure, though it doesn't fix all the problems with that driver. I didn't even bother to test this patch to compile, because cpmac driver is broken in several ways: 1. This driver won't compile by itself because lack of its header describing platform data; 2. It assumes that fixed PHYs should be created by the ethernet driver. It is wrong assumption: fixed PHYs creation is platform code authority, driver must blindly accept bus_id and phy_id platform data variables instead. Also, it seem that that driver doesn't have actual in-tree users, so nothing to fix further. The main purpose of that patch is to get rid of the following Kconfig warning: scripts/kconfig/conf -s arch/powerpc/Kconfig drivers/net/Kconfig:1713:warning: 'select' used by config symbol 'CPMAC' refers to undefined symbol 'FIXED_MII_100_FDX' Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [netdrvr] irq handler minor cleanups in several driversJeff Garzik2008-01-281-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * use irq_handler_t where appropriate * no need to use 'irq' function arg, its already stored in a data struct * rename irq handler 'irq' argument to 'dummy', where the function has been analyzed and proven not to use its first argument. * remove always-false "dev_id == NULL" test from irq handlers * remove pointless casts from void* * declance: irq argument is not const * add KERN_xxx printk prefix * fix minor whitespace weirdness Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
