| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Remove smp_lock.h from files which don't need it (including some headers!) * Add smp_lock.h to files which do need it * Make smp_lock.h include conditional in hardirq.h It's needed only for one kernel_locked() usage which is under CONFIG_PREEMPT This will make hardirq.h inclusion cheaper for every PREEMPT=n config (which includes allmodconfig/allyesconfig, BTW) Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* | net: convert remaining non-symbolic return values in ndo_start_xmit() functionsPatrick McHardy2009-07-056-14/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the remaining occurences of raw return values to their symbolic counterparts in ndo_start_xmit() functions that were missed by the previous automatic conversion. Additionally code that assumed the symbolic value of NETDEV_TX_OK to be zero is changed to explicitly use NETDEV_TX_OK. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. * | net: use NETDEV_TX_OK instead of 0 in ndo_start_xmit() functionsPatrick McHardy2009-07-0512-31/+31
|/ | | | | | | | | | | This patch is the result of an automatic spatch transformation to convert all ndo_start_xmit() return values of 0 to NETDEV_TX_OK. Some occurences are missed by the automatic conversion, those will be handled in a seperate patch. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. * proc 2/2: remove struct proc_dir_entry::ownerAlexey Dobriyan2009-03-311-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Setting ->owner as done currently (pde->owner = THIS_MODULE) is racy as correctly noted at bug #12454. Someone can lookup entry with NULL ->owner, thus not pinning enything, and release it later resulting in module refcount underflow. We can keep ->owner and supply it at registration time like ->proc_fops and ->data. But this leaves ->owner as easy-manipulative field (just one C assignment) and somebody will forget to unpin previous/pin current module when switching ->owner. ->proc_fops is declared as "const" which should give some thoughts. ->read_proc/->write_proc were just fixed to not require ->owner for protection. rmmod'ed directories will be empty and return "." and ".." -- no harm. And directories with tricky enough readdir and lookup shouldn't be modular. We definitely don't want such modular code. Removing ->owner will also make PDE smaller. So, let's nuke it. Kudos to Jeff Layton for reminding about this, let's say, oversight. http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12454 Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com>

|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The remaining registers are separated into: - <mach/regs-ost.h> - <mach/regs-rtc.h> - <mach/regs-intc.h> and then we can remove pxa-regs.h completely. Instead of #include this file, let's: 1. include the specific <mach/regs-*.h> with care (if that's absolutely necessary) 2. define the registers in the driver, make cleanly defined API to expose the register access to external with sufficient reason Signed-off-by: Eric Miao <eric.miao@marvell.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When ISA_DMA_API is unset, we're not implementing the ISA DMA API, so there's no point in publishing the prototypes via asm/dma.h, nor including the machine dependent parts of that API. This allows us to remove a lot of mach/dma.h files which don't contain any useful code. Unfortunately though, some platforms put their own private non-ISA definitions into mach/dma.h, so we leave these behind and fix the appropriate #include statments.
