* spi/mpc52xx: replace printk with dev_errWolfram Sang2009-11-041-3/+2

* spi/mpc52xx-psc-spi: check for valid PSCWolfram Sang2009-11-041-4/+8
| | | | | | | | | This driver calls mpc52xx_set_psc_clkdiv() but doesn't check its return value to see if the PSC is actually valid for SPI use. Add the check and a hint for the user. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
* spi/mpc5200: Register SPI devices described in device treeGrant Likely2009-11-041-1/+7
| | | | | | | | Add call to of_register_spi_devices() to register SPI devices described in the OF device tree. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de>
* mpc52xx_psc_spi: convert to cs_control callbackAnton Vorontsov2009-06-181-13/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | mpc52xx_psc_spi driver is the last user of the legacy activate_cs and deactivate_cs callbacks, so convert the driver to the cs_control hook and remove the legacy callbacks from fsl_spi_platform_data struct. * spi: move more spi_setup() functionality into coreDavid Brownell2009-06-181-9/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move some common spi_setup() error checks into the SPI framework from the spi_master controller drivers: - Add a new "mode_bits" field to spi_master - Use that in spi_setup to validate the spi->mode value being requested. Setting this new field is now mandatory for any controller supporting more than vanilla SPI_MODE_0. - Update all spi_master drivers to: * Initialize that field * Remove current spi_setup() checks using that value. This is a net minor code shrink. * spi: mpc52xx_psc_spi chipselect bugfixStefano Babic2008-12-011-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to the manual the "tdfOnExit" flag must be set on the last byte we want to send. The PSC controller holds SS low until the flag is set. However, the flag was set always on the last byte of the FIFO, independently if it is the last byte of the transfer. This generates spurious toggling of the SS signals that breaks the protocol of some peripherals. Fix. * powerpc/mpc5200: fix build warnings on mpc52xx_psc_spi driverGrant Likely2008-10-081-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The register definitions have been changed for the mpc5200 PSC ports to cover some of the changes in the mpc5200b. One change is that the ccr register is now a u32 instead of a u16. However, for the purposes of this driver we want to continue to use 16 bit access to avoid changing the existing (working) behaviour. This patch allows the driver to continue to do 16 bit accesses without the compiler complaining about it. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
* mpc52xx_psc_spi: fix block transferLuotao Fu2008-07-281-15/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The block transfer routine in the mpc52xx psc spi driver misinterpret the datasheet. According to the processor datasheet the chipselect is held as long as the EOF is not written. Theoretically blocks of any sizes can be transferred in this way. The old routine however writes an EOF after every word, which has the size of size_of_word. This makes the transfer slow. Also fixed some duplicate code. * spi: fix platform driver hotplug/coldplugKay Sievers2008-04-111-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | Since 43cc71eed1250755986da4c0f9898f9a635cb3bf, the platform modalias is prefixed with "platform:". Add MODULE_ALIAS() to the hotpluggable SPI platform drivers, to allow module auto loading. * powerpc: mpc5200: fix build error on mpc52xx_psc_spi device driverGrant Likely2008-03-041-3/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit id 94f389485e27641348c1951ab8d65157122a8939 (Separate MPC52xx PSC FIOF regsiters from the rest of PSC) split the PSC fifo registers away from the core PSC regs. Doing so broke the mpc52xx_psc_spi driver. This patch teaches the mpc52xx_psc_spi driver about the new PSC fifo register definitions. * [POWERPC] mpc52xx_psc_spi device driver must not touch port_config and cdmGrant Likely2008-01-261-75/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | It is dangerous for an mpc52xx device driver to modify the port_config register. If the driver is probed incorrectly, it will change the pin IO configuration in ways which may not be compatible with the board. port_config should be set up by the bootloader, or failing that, in the platform setup code in arch/powerpc/platforms/52xx. Also, modifying CDM registers directly can cause a race condition with other drivers. Instead call a common routine to modify CDM settings. * [POWERPC] mpc5200: normalize compatible property bindingsGrant Likely2008-01-261-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Update MPC5200 drivers to also look for compatible properties in the form "fsl,mpc5200-*" to better conform to open firmware generic names recommended practice as published here: http://www.openfirmware.org/1275/practice/gnames/gnamv14a.html This patch should *not* break compatibility with older device trees which do not use the 'fsl,' prefix. The drivers will still bind against the older names also. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
* [POWERPC] mpc5200: eliminate mpc52xx_*_map_*() functions.Grant Likely2008-01-181-2/+7

* SPI controller drivers: check for unsupported modesDavid Brownell2007-07-171-0/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Minor SPI controller driver updates: make the setup() methods reject spi->mode bits they don't support, by masking aginst the inverse of bits they *do* support. This insures against misbehavior later when new mode bits get added. Most controllers can't support SPI_LSB_FIRST; more handle SPI_CS_HIGH. Support for all four SPI clock/transfer modes is routine.
