From 1da177e4c3f41524e886b7f1b8a0c1fc7321cac2 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Linus Torvalds Date: Sat, 16 Apr 2005 15:20:36 -0700 Subject: Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip! --- drivers/ide/ide-proc.c | 521 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1 file changed, 521 insertions(+) create mode 100644 drivers/ide/ide-proc.c (limited to 'drivers/ide/ide-proc.c') diff --git a/drivers/ide/ide-proc.c b/drivers/ide/ide-proc.c new file mode 100644 index 0000000..bdff5ac --- /dev/null +++ b/drivers/ide/ide-proc.c @@ -0,0 +1,521 @@ +/* + * linux/drivers/ide/ide-proc.c Version 1.05 Mar 05, 2003 + * + * Copyright (C) 1997-1998 Mark Lord + * Copyright (C) 2003 Red Hat + */ + +/* + * This is the /proc/ide/ filesystem implementation. + * + * Drive/Driver settings can be retrieved by reading the drive's + * "settings" files. e.g. "cat /proc/ide0/hda/settings" + * To write a new value "val" into a specific setting "name", use: + * echo "name:val" >/proc/ide/ide0/hda/settings + * + * Also useful, "cat /proc/ide0/hda/[identify, smart_values, + * smart_thresholds, capabilities]" will issue an IDENTIFY / + * PACKET_IDENTIFY / SMART_READ_VALUES / SMART_READ_THRESHOLDS / + * SENSE CAPABILITIES command to /dev/hda, and then dump out the + * returned data as 256 16-bit words.
