* [media] STV0288 Register 42 - Incorrect settingsMalcolm Priestley2011-05-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Register 42 bits 2,3,6 and 7 should be set to 0. This gives difficult locking on some channels and may be compensated for by other methods. This affects any driver using the stv0288 frontend on the default or earda inittab. Signed-off-by: Malcolm Priestley <tvboxspy@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>

* [media] DiSEqC bug fixed for stv0288 based interfacesMalcolm Priestley2010-10-211-9/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fixed problem with DiSEqC communication. The message was wrongly modulated, so the DiSEqC switch was not work. This patch fixes DiSEqC messages, simple tone burst and tone on/off. I verified it with osciloscope against the DiSEqC documentation. * V4L/DVB: STV0288 Incorrect bit sample for Vitterbi statusMalcolm Priestley2010-10-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | bit 3(LK) indicates that the Vstatus is locked. Currently using bit 7(CF) which is usually present, results in early aborted search in FEC_AUTO and missing channels. * V4L/DVB: drivers/media: Make static data tables and strings constlawrence rust2010-10-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Making static data const avoids allocation of additional r/w memory and reduces initialisation time. It also provides some additional opportunities for compiler optimisations. * V4L/DVB (12440): Use kzalloc for frontend states to have struct dvb_frontend ↵Matthias Schwarzott2009-08-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | properly This patch changes most frontend drivers to allocate their state structure via kzalloc and not kmalloc. This is done to properly initialize the embedded "struct dvb_frontend frontend" field, that they all have. The visible effect of this struct being uninitalized is, that the member "id" that is used to set the name of kernel thread is totally random. Some board drivers (for example cx88-dvb) set this "id" via videobuf_dvb_alloc_frontend but most do not. So I at least get random id values for saa7134, flexcop and ttpci based cards. It looks like this in dmesg: DVB: registering adapter 1 frontend -10551321 (ST STV0299 DVB-S) The related kernel thread then also gets a strange name like "kdvb-ad-1-fe--1".
