* netfilter: xtables: change targets to return error codeJan Engelhardt2010-03-251-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Part of the transition of done by this semantic patch: // <smpl> @ rule1 @ struct xt_target ops; identifier check; @@ ops.checkentry = check; @@ identifier rule1.check; @@ check(...) { <... -return true; +return 0; ...> } @@ identifier rule1.check; @@ check(...) { <... -return false; +return -EINVAL; ...> } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de>
* netfilter: xtables: change xt_target.checkentry return typeJan Engelhardt2010-03-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Restore function signatures from bool to int so that we can report memory allocation failures or similar using -ENOMEM rather than always having to pass -EINVAL back. // <smpl> @@ type bool; identifier check, par; @@ -bool check +int check (struct xt_tgchk_param *par) { ... } // </smpl> Minus the change it does to xt_ct_find_proto. * netfilter: ebtables: mark: add CONFIG_COMPAT supportFlorian Westphal2010-02-161-0/+31
| | | | | | | Add the required handlers to convert 32 bit ebtables mark match and match target structs to 64bit layout. Signed-off-by: Florian Westphal <fwestphal@astaro.com>
* netfilter: ebtables: avoid explicit XT_ALIGN() in match/targetsFlorian Westphal2010-02-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This will cause trouble once CONFIG_COMPAT support is added to ebtables. xt_compat_*_offset() calculate the kernel/userland structure size delta using: XT_ALIGN(size) - COMPAT_XT_ALIGN(size) If the match/target sizes are aligned at registration time, delta is always zero. Should have zero effect for existing systems: xtables uses XT_ALIGN() whenever it deals with match/target sizes. * [NETFILTER]: Replace sk_buff ** with sk_buff *Herbert Xu2007-10-151-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | With all the users of the double pointers removed, this patch mops up by finally replacing all occurances of sk_buff ** in the netfilter API by sk_buff *. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETFILTER]: ebtables: add --snap-arp optionBart De Schuymer2006-12-021-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | The attached patch adds --snat-arp support, which makes it possible to change the source mac address in both the mac header and the arp header with one rule. Signed-off-by: Bart De Schuymer <bdschuym@pandora.be> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net>
* [NET]: Turn nfmark into generic markThomas Graf2006-12-021-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | nfmark is being used in various subsystems and has become the defacto mark field for all kinds of packets. Therefore it makes sense to rename it to `mark' and remove the dependency on CONFIG_NETFILTER. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETFILTER]: ebt_mark: add or/and/xor action support to mark targetBart De Schuymer2006-10-041-4/+17
| | | | | | | | | The following patch adds or/and/xor functionality for the mark target, while staying backwards compatible. Signed-off-by: Bart De Schuymer <bdschuym@pandora.be> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETFILTER]: Rename init functions.Andrew Morton2006-03-281-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Every netfilter module uses `init' for its module_init() function and `fini' or `cleanup' for its module_exit() function. Problem is, this creates uninformative initcall_debug output and makes ctags rather useless. So go through and rename them all to $(filename)_init and $(filename)_fini. * [NETFILTER]: reduce netfilter sk_buff enlargementHarald Welte2005-08-291-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As discussed at netconf'05, we're trying to save every bit in sk_buff. The patch below makes sk_buff 8 bytes smaller. I did some basic testing on my notebook and it seems to work. The only real in-tree user of nfcache was IPVS, who only needs a single bit. Unfortunately I couldn't find some other free bit in sk_buff to stuff that bit into, so I introduced a separate field for them. Maybe the IPVS guys can resolve that to further save space. Initially I wanted to shrink pkt_type to three bits (PACKET_HOST and alike are only 6 values defined), but unfortunately the bluetooth code overloads pkt_type :( The conntrack-event-api (out-of-tree) uses nfcache, but Rusty just came up with a way how to do it without any skb fields, so it's safe to remove it. - remove all never-implemented 'nfcache' code - don't have ipvs code abuse 'nfcache' field. currently get's their own compile-conditional skb->ipvs_property field. IPVS maintainers can decide to move this bit elswhere, but nfcache needs to die. - remove skb->nfcache field to save 4 bytes - move skb->nfctinfo into three unused bits to save further 4 bytes Signed-off-by: Harald Welte <laforge@netfilter.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
